Black Oak Residence

This mid century home was built in 1968 by artist: Russell Baldwin, one of San Diego’s earliest pioneers of conceptual art. Located in a wooded area, the home is set on a hillside giving it a secluded feeling and was strategically sited to take full advantage of the mountain views and cool summer breezes. With a strong penchant for mid century design,  we had the pleasure of paying homage and respect to these bones and did a full remodel with a strong emphasis on bringing the outdoors in and reinvent the space to connect more closely with its native landscape.
